On 11 January, the LIFE Information Day took place in Warsaw, organised by the LIFE National Contact Point at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

During the event, participants heard presentations from representatives of the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), the Ministry of Climate and Environment, and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), who outlined the wide range of opportunities offered by the LIFE Programme.

The event also provided an opportunity to visit the stands of LIFE Projects and National Contact Points from other EU programmes. It was a remarkable experience to discover so many fascinating initiatives being implemented across Poland, all rooted in a commitment to environmental care.

The PROZON Climate Protection Foundation was also present at the Information Day, showcasing its three projects: the Refrigerants Life Cycle project, which has been under way since 2019, as well as LEGAL HFC 4 LIFE and RE-ELECTRO 4 LIFE, which simultaneously received funding in the same year! Our commitment was particularly recognised, as President Krzysztof Grzegorczyk accepted a special distinction for the PROZON Climate Protection Foundation as the most engaged LIFE Beneficiary!

The LIFE Information Day also featured a presentation of the results of 15 years of NFOŚiGW’s involvement in supporting LIFE projects in Poland. Offers from other EU programmes were also presented by invited representatives of National Contact Points, including HORIZON EUROPE (NCBR), URBACT and the EU Programme Financial Instruments.

What is the LIFE Programme?

The LIFE Programme is the only programme managed at the level of the European Commission and entirely dedicated to environmental protection, nature conservation, climate action and the energy transition. The programme provides support for, among other things, active nature conservation projects in Natura 2000 areas, the testing and preparation for wide-scale deployment of solutions that can contribute to improving the state of the environment, and overcoming barriers to the transition to clean energy.
