At the beginning of September 2023, the project team met to inaugurate the implementation of another PROZON project, financed from EU funds.

The primary objective of the LEGAL HFC 4 LIFE project is to develop and implement a model of cooperation and tools between public authorities and other entities in order to improve monitoring in the area of HFCs and their illegal trading.

The project is intended to establish a model of cooperation between public authorities in the area of combating HFC smuggling and illegal trading.

The aim of the project’s activities is to raise awareness and knowledge among representatives of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) industry, public officials and the general public regarding the handling of illegal HFCs and legislative changes, while the overarching goal is to draw particular attention to the problem of refrigerant smuggling. To this end, the project also includes a series of training sessions for public officials and the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning industry, as well as the organisation of discussion panels with the refrigeration industry in order to jointly develop a shared industry position.

Project implementation dates: 1 September 2023 – 31 August 2026.

The project has been co-financed under the LIFE programme of the European Commission.
