A lack of legible manufacturer, reclaimer, or supplier details should prompt additional verification of the offer.
2. Consistency between cylinder markings and documentation
The information on the container should match the documents provided with the product. This concerns primarily:
- the name of the refrigerant,
- the batch designation,
- the product mass,
- the details of the supplier or responsible entity,
- information on origin and the reclamation process.
Discrepancies between the label, invoice, product data sheet, and quality document may indicate a lack of proper oversight of the product.
3. Ability to identify a specific batch
Every batch of reclaimed refrigerant should be traceable. The batch number placed on the cylinder should correspond to the number indicated in the quality documentation.
This matters not only when assessing a product before purchase, but also in the event of later questions, complaints, or the need to re-verify its parameters.
A quality document with no reference to a specific batch does not provide certainty that the presented results relate to the refrigerant contained in the given container.

Why does refrigerant quality matter?

Before buying, it is worth requesting a quality document for the specific batch and checking that the information it contains matches the markings on the cylinder.
In case of doubt, you can also:
- ask for an explanation of the reclamation process,
- verify the details of the entity indicated in the documentation,
- check whether the product batch can be traced,
- ask about the scope of the tests performed,
- commission an independent analysis of a refrigerant sample.
A reputable supplier should be ready to answer questions about the origin, quality, and parameters of the product offered.
An informed purchase means lower risk
Verifying a refrigerant before purchase should not be limited to checking the product name and price. Its origin, batch traceability, the reliability of the documentation, and the ability to confirm its actual composition and parameters all matter as well.
A properly reclaimed refrigerant can be a valuable and safe product — provided that the reclamation process was carried out diligently and its quality was confirmed by appropriate testing.
By choosing a refrigerant with documented origin and verified parameters, a technician reduces the risk to the installation, to the service performed, and to their client.
