On 11 March 2024, the new Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2024/573 of 7 February 2024 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 517/2014, entered into force.

The new Regulation introduces a number of highly significant changes compared to Regulation (EU) No 517/2014, including:

  • a tightened schedule for the phase-down of HFC placing on the market,
  • the introduction of a complete ban on the trade of F-gases in single-use containers within the EU,
  • stricter penalties for non-compliance, in line with the Environmental Crime Directive currently being amended.

In response to the changes this Regulation brings for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, the PROZON Climate Protection Foundation organised a free educational webinar. The session was led by Professor Janusz Kozakiewicz. The webinar was actively attended by 280 participants, with 497 people registered.

Participants listened to a presentation by the Professor, who discussed the key changes compared to the previous Regulation 517/2014. The expert then answered questions from the audience.

We are delighted that our webinar attracted such great interest. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in organising this event. A link to the full recording is available here.
